Characteristics
Marbrex L Marmorino is a natural and ecological stucco finishing for both interior and exterior use. It contains lime putty and marble powders selected of constant granulometry 0-0,4 mm, improved according to modern technics to obtain excellent aesthetic and applicative characteristics. Marbrex L Marmorino is particularly indicated for the historical buildings and of artistic interest, in the programs of revalorization of the old downtown areas and for a better chromatic and aesthetic integration of the new buildings. Marbrex L Marmorino is both decorative and protective. It is very permeable, anti-bacterial and anti-mould. It makes it possible to carry out the stucco Marmorino, which is a smoothed matt or glossy stucco with aesthetic color variations and transparencies.
This Marmorino or Palladio stucco is known since antiquity, it is also called Venetian stucco because of its great development in Venice. The most beautiful villas are due to Palladio. The architect Carlo Scarpa superbly integrates this stucco in modern architecture.
Preparing Supports
The supports and their preparation will be in conformity with the code of practice and the current standard (clean, dry, nonfriable and deprived of salts, moisture and moulds). Supports must be homogeneous in absorption. Therefore, supports that are not prepared (plaster board, gypsum block, asbestos cement, siporex, wood, old paintings and other similar supports) will have to be finished or raked and/or be fixed with a water-based matt impression.
In case of exposure to beating water, it is necessary to have a water-proof mineral support (cement or bastard coating).
Marbrex L Marmorino should be applied to dry funds made out of Marbrex R or Mineral 000 lime plaster. On non lime-based supports or on old supports containing lime, apply Sous couche pour chaux or Sous couche pour chaux Extra.
Instructions
It can be colored with all compatible mineral pigments. Soften the pigments in water and filter the coloring paste obtained with a fine sieve. For a better dispersion of the pigments in the water, we advise the use of Pentasol wetting agent.
Mix well before the application.
Ready to use, it is implemented with platoir of stucco worker (Trapezoidal Italian Platoir) on a 1 to 2 mm thickness in 2 layers “at fresco”.
It is dry after approximately 24h.
Apply a 1st layer to cover the grain of the Marbrex R or Mineral 000 lime plaster, and before its complete drying, finish with a 2nd layer “at fresco” which is then smoothed with platoir until obtaining the desired aspect. It is possible to put on several layers “at fresco”.
To obtain a very shining and/or polychrome (imitation marble) effect, use Finition S Mantovano on Marbrex L Marmorino.
Avoid applying Marbrex L Marmorino to hot supports and/or directly exposed to the sun, by day of wind, on wet supports or in the event of rain.
Consumption: approximately 1 - 2 kg/m ²
Carbonation: in case of exterior application, color variations or saltwork efflorescence can appear following rainwater streaming or residual moisture. Once the application is over and Marbrex L Marmorino is dry (the coating must have lost all its water), the evening or the following day, it is advised to completely sprinkle the support with a spray or a low pressure jet of fresh water from the bottom to the top (avoiding run-outs). The purpose of this is to accelerate the carbonation of the work. It is recommended to repeat this operation several times by respecting a time of drying between each humidification. This operation can be carried out also inside. For a better protection with rainwater, following the carbonation, it is advised to employ our water repellent (Hydrorep, Water Hydrorep or Hydromat).
For an excellent protection with beating water, after carbonation, implement our water repellent Hydrorep, Water Hydrorep or Hydromat into 2-3 layers and then our bees & carnauba Solid Wax into 2-3 layers until a perfect sealing.
To protect basins, melt of shower, consult us.
Check the perfect sealing before putting out water.
Recommendations
Be careful to protect yourself from the caustic action of lime. In the event of contact with the eyes or the skin, rinse abundantly with fresh water and consult a doctor if the symptoms persist. Keep out of reach from children.
Cleaning and Conservation
Clean tools with water. Apply and preserve at temperatures ranging between 5°C and 35°C. To store and protect Marbrex L Marmorino from the air, add a filament of water and perfectly close the pot. It can be kept 1 year in its original pack in a dry and free freezing environment.
