Characteristics
Satura glaze is a water-based natural, ecological glaze. It has a velvety matt aspect for both interior and exterior. It contains casein, very fine aged fat lime, salt of boron, salt of alum, vegetable oil, leithin, citrus fruits cellulose and gasoline.
Satura glaze can be used to realize full tone by adding white loads (White of titanium, chalk,…) and/or mineral pigments (natural grounds, oxides,…), but also as a natural glaze diluted with water to carry out patina effects.
Satura glaze is particularly indicated to carry out saturated colors, cloudy effect or full tone which fit to historical buildings and the ones with artistic interest, in programs of revalorization of old downtown areas and for a better chromatic and aesthetic integration of the new buildings. Satura glaze is both decorative and protective. It is very water vapor resistant. It is naturally bactericidal and anti-mould, it allows to obtain a very aesthetic aspect while avoiding the technical problems of film forming paintings, aspect characterized by the moirages and the transparencies specific to the old full tone and glaze.
This painting was formulated so as to correspond to the criteria of analysis ECOLABEL n° 2 and 3 for the determination of the total volatile organic solvent contents and to the criteria of analysis ECOLABEL n°3 and 4 for the determination of the dangerous substances (European directive of September 3, 2002 n° 2002/739/CE).
Preparing Supports
Supports and their preparation will be in conformity with the code of practice and the DTU in force (clean, dry, nonfriable and deprived of salts, moisture and moulds). The supports must be homogeneous in absorption. Supports that are not prepared (plaster board, gypsum block, asbestos cement, siporex, wood, old paintings, stoppings, bleedings and other supports similar) will have to be finished or raked and/or to be fixed with a water-based matt impression. Satura applies preferably to porous supports such as our completions containing lime (Badimat, Antiqua limewashes or Mineral, Marbrex R lime plasters), plaster, bastard coating,
For particular applications, ask us.
Instructions
Satura glaze can be colored with all compatible mineral pigments. It is advised to add maximum 10% of Oxides and 20% of Natural Grounds compared to the volume of Satura glaze. Soften pigments in water and filter the coloring paste that is obtained with a fine sieve. For a better dispersion of pigments, we recommend the use of Pentasol wetting agent.
Mix well and always stir up during the application to keep pigments in suspension. It is implemented with brush into 1 or several layers diluted according to the porosity of the support with approximately 10-20% of water to use it as painting and more according to consistency and the desired aspect to use it as glacis. It is dry and recoverable after approximately 24h.
Apply by cross keys, You can wipe them or poach them using a rag, a plug, a brush to be poached or a slightly wet natural sponge. The final aspect is more or less moderate according to tools we used, the type of support and its color, the taste and the blow of hand of the applicator. So same color can give different tones, this is why we advise to tint Satura glaze by yourself while carrying out tests.
Satura glaze dries slowly and allows, as well in paintingto realize full tone than in glaze, the implementation of important surface.
Avoid applying Satura glaze on hot supports and/or directly exposed to the sun, by day of wind, on wet supports or in the event of rain.
Consumption: approximately 0,1 lt/m ² by layer according to its use - unit Weight: 1,15 kg/lt
Carbonation: in case of exterior application, color variations or saltwork efflorescence can appear following rainwater streaming or residual moisture. Once the application is over and Satura glaze is dry (the coating must have lost all its water), the evening or the following day, it is advised to completely sprinkle the support with a spray or a low pressure jet of fresh water from the bottom to the top (avoiding run-outs). The purpose of this is to accelerate the carbonation of the work. It is recommended to repeat this operation several times by respecting a time of drying between each humidification. This operation can be carried out also inside. For a better protection with rainwater, following the carbonation, it is advised to employ our water repellent (Hydrorep, Water Hydrorep or Hydromat).
Recommendations
Be careful to protect yourself from the caustic action of lime. In the event of contact with the eyes or the skin, rinse abundantly with fresh water and consult a doctor if the symptoms persist. Keep it out of reach of children.
